The 3rd National Morchella Conference was held in Xianggelila, China

The 3rd National Morchella Conference was held in Xianggelila, China from March 9th to 11th. Unfortunately, I did not have the chance to attend!

I don't know yet what progressed have been made this year. It seems that the conference focused on similar topics discussed last year. For instance, what factors influence the formation of sclerotia? Is the ability of sclerotia formation a criteria to determine the quality of spawn? How to effectively reduce cost? Is there alternative method instead of using nutrient bags? ...

Poster for the conference

Based on what I have seen and heard, this year seems to be a profitable year for morel farmers. Check the morel photos from a morel farm in Huaping, Yunan Province, China. (Photo credits: Huiming Wu) These look like M. importuna to me.
